Universities Recommend Mac Antivirus Software

Posted on by

Just like Apple, who recommended antivirus software for all Macs before changing their mind, more and more universities are recommending Mac antivirus software for their staff and students. Universities like North Carolina State are recommending that their users install Mac antivirus software, in part because of the scale of their user communities and the wide range of activities these users engage in. Downloading files and exchanging files with others is fraught with risks, and more and more threats targeting the Mac have come to light recently. Wherever there are large numbers of users concentrated in a small area – such as in a university or large company – who feel safe exchanging files with each other, security is only as strong as the weakest link.
