Microsoft has issued updates for Office 2004 and 2008 for Mac. The company says the updates include a security fix for “vulnerabilities that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of a computer’s memory by using malicious code.” The Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.5.4 Update is only 9.7 MB, but the Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.1.7 Update is a whopping 268 MB. It’s not clear why there is such a difference, because Microsoft’s descriptions of the two updates is the same. You can download the update you need at Microsoft’s Mactopia web site.
