Microsoft has issued a security update for Office 2011 to fix “A security vulnerability […] in the way that folder permissions are set in certain Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac 14.2 installations.” This 100 MB update is available via Microsoft’s AutoUpdate utility, or by download from this page. All users should apply this update. There is no update for Office 2008, and according to Microsoft’s information, it doesn’t seem that these vulnerabilities affect the older version of Office.
