Intego, Inc. (“Intego,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website available at https://www.intego.com (the “Website”). This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to recognize you when you visit our Website. It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies

1. A cookie is a small data file placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information. Similar technologies include web beacons, pixels, tags, software development kits, local and session storage, and device identifiers (together with cookies, "cookies and similar technologies").

2. Cookies can be session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them. Cookies may also be first-party, set by our Website, or third-party, set by a domain other than our Website.

3. Cookies and similar technologies are subject both to the ePrivacy rules (which determine whether we need your consent to store or read information on your device) and to data protection law (which governs how we process any personal data collected). Both regimes apply cumulatively

2. Cookie categories

1. We classify the cookies and similar technologies used on the Website into the following categories:

  • Strictly Necessary cookies, which are essential to provide a service you have expressly requested and which cannot be switched off in our systems;
  • Analytics cookies, which help us understand how visitors interact with the Website;
  • Marketing cookies, which are used to deliver, measure, and improve advertising; and
  • Functional / Preferences cookies, which enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as embedded video and live chat.

2. Only Strictly Necessary cookies are exempt from consent. All Analytics, Marketing, and Functional / Preferences cookies are set only after you have given your consent through our cookie banner or preference center, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.

3. Cookies and similar technologies we use

1. Strictly Necessary (no consent required). These are used solely to transmit a communication or because they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have expressly requested:

  • Usercentrics Consent Management Platform: records and stores your cookie consent choices and operates our consent mechanism;
  • Cloudflare: provides website security, bot mitigation, and load-balancing (for example the __cf_bm and cf_clearance cookies);
  • Stripe: enables secure payment processing and fraud prevention on the checkout and payment flow;
  • PayPal: enables secure payment processing and fraud prevention on the checkout and payment flow;
  • reCAPTCHA: provides security and bot-protection on forms and login (used for security purposes only); and
  • jQuery: supports core website functionality where served on a first-party (self-hosted) basis.

2. Analytics (consent required). These help us measure and improve the Website and are not set until you consent:

  • Google Analytics: to understand how users interact with the Website, which pages are visited, and how long visitors stay; and
  • Mixpanel: for in-depth analytics and user-behaviour insights.

3. Marketing (consent required). These are used to deliver and measure advertising and are not set until you consent:

  • Google Ads: advertising and conversion tracking;
  • Bing Conversion (Microsoft): advertising and conversion tracking; and
  • Meta Pixel: advertising, conversion measurement, and audience building. In respect of the Meta Pixel, we act as a joint controller with Meta Platforms for the collection and transmission of your data, as described in clause 6.3.

4. Functional / Preferences (consent required). These enable enhanced functionality and are not set until you consent:

  • YouTube: to display embedded video content;
  • Vimeo: to display embedded video content; and
  • Zendesk / Zendesk Widget: to provide live-chat and customer-support functionality
  • Google Tag Manager. We use Google Tag Manager to manage and deploy tags on the Website.

5. Google Fonts. Where the Website uses Google Fonts, we self-host the font files so that no personal data is transmitted to Google when a page loads. Where any font is loaded remotely, it is treated as a Functional / Preferences technology and is not loaded until you consent.

4. How we use cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • enable core website functionality, such as maintaining your session and remembering your preferences;
  • support e-commerce and payment processes, including processing orders securely;
  • facilitate account registration, login, and administration;
  • maintain the security and integrity of the Website;
  • measure and analyze usage, performance, and trends, where you have consented; and
  • deliver and measure advertising, where you have consented.
5. Your choices and control

1. Cookie banner and preference center. On your first visit you are presented with a cookie banner allowing you to accept or reject each category of non-essential cookie. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and no non-essential cookie is set before you give consent. You may revisit and change your choices at any time through the preference center.

2. Withdrawing consent. You may withdraw your consent to any non-essential category at any time, and withdrawal is as easy as giving consent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

3. Browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking or deleting cookies may impair certain functionality of the Website.

4. Opt-outs. For certain third-party providers, additional opt-out tools are available, including opt-out mechanisms offered by Google and other providers.

6. Legal basis for processing (EU/EEA and UK visitors)

1. If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, our legal bases are as follows:

  • For all non-essential cookies (Analytics, Marketing, and Functional / Preferences), our legal basis for both the storage or access and the associated processing of personal data is your consent. We do not rely on legitimate interests for non-essential cookies; and
  • For Strictly Necessary cookies, the storage or access is exempt from consent, and the associated processing of personal data relies on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Website (for example, Cloudflare and reCAPTCHA) or on the performance of a contract with you (for example, Stripe and PayPal on the checkout flow).

2. International transfers. Some providers named in this Policy (including Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Google Ads, Bing Conversion, the Meta Pixel, YouTube, Vimeo, reCAPTCHA, and Cloudflare) may transfer personal data to the United States. Such transfers currently rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension where the relevant provider is certified, and otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum) supported by a transfer risk assessment. You may request further information on the safeguards applied using the contact details in clause 10.1.

3. Joint controllership for the Meta Pixel. For the collection and transmission of data via the Meta Pixel, Intego and Meta Platforms act as joint controllers, and we have entered into an arrangement with Meta allocating our respective data protection responsibilities. Meta's subsequent processing of that data is carried out under its own responsibility. You may obtain the essence of this arrangement using the contact details in clause 10.1.

7. Data collected via cookies and retention

1. Depending on the cookie and purpose, the data collected may include device or browser identifiers, IP address, pages visited, session duration, navigation paths, language preference, screen size, and device type.

2. Each cookie has a defined and proportionate lifespan. We retain cookie-derived data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law, and we keep analytics and reporting data in aggregated or de-identified form wherever feasible.

8. What happens if you disable cookies

If you disable or block cookies, some parts of the Website may not function correctly. You may be unable to complete transactions, lose personalization or preferences you have set, be unable to log in or maintain a session, or notice degraded performance

9. Changes to this cookie policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal, regulatory, or business requirements. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date above. If the changes are significant, we may provide more prominent notice.
