RESULTS OF INTEGO'S TRANSITION TO
INTEL-COMPATIBLE SECURITY SOFTWARE FOR MAC OS X

Successful Transition for Thousands of Intego Users

AUSTIN, TX, January 26, 2006 - Intego, the Macintosh security specialist, is proud to announce that two weeks after the release of its key Macintosh security programs for Apple's new Intel-based Macintosh computers, the transition has been smooth and trouble-free. Intego's three key security products, VirusBarrier X4, NetBarrier X4, and Personal Backup X4, all of which are optimized for Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4), have been available as Universal, or Intel-compatible, applications since January 10, 2006, the day Apple announced their new Intel-based computers.

Thousands of users have purchased these new applications, part of Intego's state-of-the-art X4 product line that combines security with comprehensive feature sets, and user-friendliness with performance. There have been no major problems with this software running on Intel-based Macs, and both Intego and its customers are delighted with these programs. Since the release of these Universal applications, Intego users working with Intel-based Macs have been able to guarantee their security with perfect compatibility and maximal performance.

"Mac users are concerned about ensuring the long-term usage of their computers and software. We wanted to guarantee that our customers have full protection from the dangers of the Internet as soon as Apple shipped the first Intel Macs," said Laurent Marteau, CEO of Intego. "We are proud to be the first security software company to offer total protection for the latest Macs. Having successfully concluded this transition ahead of our competitors, Intego is now looking forward, developing new products and enhancing existing programs."

Laurent Marteau adds, "Intego will always ship software compatible with new versions of Mac OS X on the day of release, ensuring that our customers are always protected. We help users make such transitions, such as from one version of an operating system to a new one, or from one type of Mac to another, as simple and secure as possible. At the same time, we will continue to provide PowerPC versions of our software as long as our customers require them."

In addition, Intego is very happy with Apple's Universal application format, which ensures that the company can deliver its programs in versions that will run on both PowerPC-based Macs and the new Intel-based Macs, so users of PowerPC Macs will be able to continue to run Intego security software to protect their Macs for a very long time.

Universal applications are those that run natively on both Intel processor- and PowerPC processor-based Macs. Because of Intego's long-standing commitment to Apple and the Macintosh platform, the company worked for many months to provide this compatibility from day one. Intego shipped Intel-compatible Universal applications on January 10, 2006, the day that Apple first announced Intel-based Macs. Just as, in the past, Intego has shipped fully-compatible and optimized versions of its software on the day that Apple has released major system upgrades (Jaguar, Panther, and Tiger), Intego will be ready for the next system upgrade, Mac OS X 10.5, Leopard, the day Apple ships this next system upgrade.

Users who have purchased any Intego X4 program (VirusBarrier X4, NetBarrier X4, or Personal Backup X4) can update these programs to Intel-compatible versions using NetUpdate, Intego's software update management tool, included with these programs. Universal applications are available for purchase from the Intego web site or from retail and mail order dealers worldwide.

System Requirements:

Intel-compatible software requires a Mac with an Intel processor running Mac OS X 10.4.4 or later. Intego's X4 programs are also fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.2.8 (Jaguar) and 10.3 (Panther), and are optimized for Mac OS X 10.4, Tiger.
